13 pueblos en defesa del agu, el aire y la tierra
13 popoli in difesa dell'acqua, l'aria e la terra
13 populations in defense of water, air and earth
The story of the “13 populations” began in 2007 with the birth of the Concil of Peonles of Morelos in defense of their territory. This was an organized fight against a corrupt political system that expressed the economic interests tied to the paving of the territory, to open-air dumps, and to the privatization of communal property. Today, the 13 populations have become 64, and their advisory council represents around 800,000 people, more than a third of the citizens of the State of Morelos.
