LUPELE
In eastern Romania, just a few kilometres from the border, lives a small community of peasants and shepherds. For centuries, it has been following the cycles of nature, working incessantly, in a fertile yet desolate environment in which man is only a small part of the landscape. The story is told by its protagonists, such as Neletu, a moustached solitary wolf, who recalls a past in which some features of the contemporary emerge: in the fields corn is harvested, but also comments are made about Facebook profiles; the village hears the stories of the elderly, but if the phone rings in the meantime, you have to answer. The care of crops, transhumance and beekeeping are the pillars of a life that flows in a balance with the seasons, but leaving, at the end of the day, the space to celebrate, drink and dance in the light of the sunset, perhaps listening to Elvis Presley from the headphones of your smartphone.
